Welcome to the Northill Parish Council Website, we hope that
you will find it interesting and informative.
Northill Parish
Council was formed on the 4th of December 1894 and has been
meeting regularly ever since. We celebrated our centenary
in 1994 with various events including a special service held
in the St Mary Virgin Church, Northill, planting of over 100
trees around the parish and holding a competition to design
a centenary logo. Northill Parish Council are proud to have
been awarded quality status in February 2008.
This Council
has many responsibilities, ranging from street lighting, grass
cutting and planning matters to name but a few. Some of these
we deal with on behalf of or in partnership with other Government
Departments.
Our Parish
covers a number of villages and hamlets (please
click here to view a map of our area) which of course
means that there are always plenty of things to do, meetings
to attend, correspondence to reply to and problems to solve.
There are 12 Parish Councillors which makes it easier to spread
the workload and gives everybody access to a point of contact.
We hold our meetings on a regular
basis and these are attended by members of the Parish
Council, representatives from Bedfordshire County Council,
Mid Bedfordshire District Council and our Local Police Beat
Manager.
We
produce a newsletter once a quarter which is distributed to
every household in our parish but is also available below
to download if you wish.
(please
click here to view or download the latest newsletter, which
is in PDF format)
If you have
any suggestions with regard to information that you would
like to appear on this website please contact our Clerk Mrs
Linda Trevena on 01767 221930.
